Rogers ‘in an uncomfortable spot’ amid transfer speculation

Morgan Rogers is in an “uncomfortable spot” regarding speculation over his future, but insisted he will channel the uncertainty positively at the World Cup.

The Aston Villa forward was in exceptional form for his club in the 2025-26 season, having netted 10 Premier League goals from 6.8 expected goals (xG), displaying a high level of finishing.

Only Ollie Watkins (19) registered more league goal involvements for Villa in 2025-26 than Rogers.

The 23-year-old helped Villa win the Europa League, and he is now being linked with numerous clubs, including Premier League champions Arsenal.

As he prepares for England’s World Cup campaign, Rogers told the Rest Is Football Podcast, “I think the first time it ever happened it was,” when asked if transfer speculation affects his concentration.

“You’re in an uncomfortable spot of not realising that people have so much interest in you and you’re not quite realising that.”

Rogers knows he will need to put the distractions to one side as the Three Lions aim for a deep run.

He added: “But as you get older and gain experience along the way, you know that comes with it and 95% of it is just noise.

“You hear it, of course you do. You can’t help not [hearing it]. You know it’s there but you’ve got to use it in a positive way.

“You just try and get on with your game and just focus.”
