It’s a face that will undoubtedly bring back some memories to Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, N’Golo Kanté and Lucas Hernandez. For their first match in this 2026 World Cup, Didier Deschamps’ Blues will challenge Senegal this Tuesday (9:00 p.m.).

A meeting which will be chaired by Australian-Iranian referee Alireza Faghani, as announced by FIFA this Saturday. The latter was notably on the whistle for the twisty round of 16 between the France team and Argentina in 2018 (4-3 victory for the Blues). Faghani also officiated during the 2022 World Cup, or even during the last Club World Cup final lost by Paris Saint-Germain against Chelsea (0-3).
