Tottenham sign Dubravka amid Vicario exit speculation

Tottenham have completed the signing of Martin Dubravka on a free transfer.

Dubravka spent last season at Burnley, and impressed despite the Clarets suffering relegation back to the Championship.

The 37-year-old was the busiest goalkeeper in the Premier League in 2025-26, making 127 saves and facing shots worth a combined 67.7 expected goals (xG), which was 15 more than any other shot-stopper.

Spurs have now moved to sign Dubravka as their second-choice goalkeeper behind Antonin Kinsky, amid speculation that Guglielmo Vicario could be set to leave.

Vicario has been linked with a move back to Italy, with several Serie A clubs credited with an interest.

Of signing Dubravka, Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi said: “I am very happy because Martin is a goalkeeper with big experience and a strong mentality.

“He has very important qualities for me and will bring balance, leadership and competitiveness to our dressing room.”

Dubravka said: “It’s an exciting time for me, a new journey and new experience for my family and me. I’m looking forward to it.

“Everything moved pretty quickly and I’m really happy to be here. I’ve loved watching Roberto’s teams over the years and know all about his style, vision and the fantastic fans here.

“Tottenham is one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and I can’t wait to meet everyone and get started.”

Spurs finished 17th last season, only staying up on the final day.

However, they have been busy in the transfer market, already signing Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers, as well as spending a reported £52m on Jan Paul van Hecke.

Spurs are also reportedly in talks with Newcastle United over a big-money deal for midfielder Sandro Tonali.
