Six qualified and four eliminated already known
If the final table for the 2026 World Cup is still unclear, some teams are already guaranteed to see the sixteenth place.
Before the final matches of the second day of the group stage, which will take place on Tuesday evening including Portugal-Uzbekistan (at 7 p.m.) and England-Ghana (at 10 p.m.), things are already settling down in this 2026 World Cup. Six teams have already validated their ticket for the round of 16 while four selections are eliminated.
Last night, in Group I, France and Norway recorded a second consecutive victory, at the expense of Iraq (3-0) and Senegal (3-2) respectively. With six points each on the clock, these two teams can no longer be joined and will therefore compete for first place next Friday in Boston (at 9 p.m.).
Argentina, France and Norway at the meeting
The Blues and the Norwegians imitated Mexico (group A), the United States (group D), Germany (group E) and Argentina (group J), who also achieved a flawless performance and will see the round of 16. Colombia (group K) and England or Ghana (group L) will also have a chance this evening to punch their ticket to the future.
Four participants, however, have nothing left to hope for. Haiti (group C) will finish whatever happens behind Brazil, Morocco and Scotland. Same thing for Turkey (group D), which will remain one of the biggest disappointments of this North American World Cup. Humiliated twice, Tunisia (group F) is also out of the race, as is Jordan (group J).
