Jean-Philippe Mateta could change clubs just before the World Cup!

Funny season for Jean-Philippe Mateta. This winter, he was on the verge of joining AC Milan. A departure for a big European club, which could notably allow him to have more options in view of the World Cup. But the operation was aborted due to his medical examination and his knee problems. A difficult situation, and the main person concerned was also shot.

But the sufferings of the present time are not comparable to the glory to come, and Mateta is the best example. Although the winter was tough for him, he ended the season on an excellent note, winning the Conference League with Crystal Palace. The French striker also scored the winning goal in this final against Rayo Vallecano, and he has scored 12 times in the league this season. He was also selected by Didier Deschamps for the World Cup and will therefore be there on American soil this summer.

A future in Italy?

And as the Italian press indicates, he could even change clubs quickly and join… AC Milan. The Lombards came back for the 28-year-old, who is under contract until 2027 in London. Tuttosport even indicates that he could arrive with his trainer, Oliver Glasner. The Milanese have seen that Mateta has fully recovered from his knee problems, and he will logically be cheaper than the 35 million euros mentioned last winter, his contract now expiring in just one year.

A case which could be concluded quite quickly, since according to Il Tirrenoit’s progressing very well for Glasner in Milan. Mateta would follow. AC Milan wants to carry out a real revolution in its workforce and Mateta could become one of the spearheads of this new Milan project. To be continued…
