Now aged 71, Christian Gourcuff has distanced himself from the world of football. After a brief stint on the FC Nantes sidelines, the Breton coach has not officiated since 2020. “ It’s not football itself, but the world around it, the environment, that disgusts me a little “, he confided during an interview with Africafoot.

It must be said that Yoann Gourcuff’s father was the coach of the Fennecs between 2014 and 2016. A selection for whom he has affection and which he will watch closely during the World Cup.
“I am not going to say that I am a supporter of Algeria, but I will watch them with interest », Said the former Lorient coach. Beyond his attachment to the Greens, Christian Gourcuff has maintained very good relations with the president of the Algerian Federation (FAF), Walid Sadi.
