Bellingham ‘very happy’ with Madrid signings and Mourinho return

Jude Bellingham is excited to return to Real Madrid after the World Cup, following their “great signings” and the return of a “top coach” in Jose Mourinho.

After winning LaLiga, the Champions League and the Supercopa de Espana in his first season with Real Madrid, Bellingham has failed to win any silverware since.

Los Blancos finished second in the league last season, while they were knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Champions League by Bayern Munich.

However, the club have responded strongly so far this summer, already bringing in Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva to bolster their squad.

Mourinho has also returned to the Spanish capital, having won LaLiga, the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana in his first spell with Madrid between 2010 and 2013.

Bellingham believes Madrid are making the right steps in order to compete for major trophies again.

“Mourinho is a top, top coach. I’m very happy,” said Bellingham.

“We made some great signings as well, a lot of signings, with a lot of quality and experience.

“I’ll be very happy to work with them.”

Bellingham has made 140 appearances for Madrid since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2023, scoring 46 goals and providing 32 assists for the club.

Since his debut, only Vinicius Junior (103) and Kylian Mbappe (97) have directly contributed to more goals for Los Blancos than Bellingham (78).
