RB Salzburg close to appointing Danny Röhl

RB Salzburg are expected to name Rangers’ Danny Röhl as their new head coach.
According to a report from Sky Germany, only the final few details remain to be ironed out with the Austrian side expected to confirm the appointment soon.
Röhl took charge of Rangers in October 2025 and has won 18 of his 25 Scottish Premiership games but after six draws and one defeat, missed out on the title.
The 37-year-old has been in the Red Bull system previously, starting his career as a video analyst for RB Leipzig before roles as assistant manager, and eventually assistant manager at the Bundesliga club between 2016 and 2018 under Ralph Hasenhüttl before following the Austrian to Southampton.
Röhl – either side of working under Niko Kovac – was assistant manager at Bayern Munich and the German national team under Hansi Flick before being appointed Sheffield Wednesday manager in October 2023, a position he held until July 2025.
