Real Madrid, the decision is made for the future of Tchouaméni

Announced at Real Madrid, José Mourinho has already made a strong decision concerning the future of Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Florentino Pérez is reappointed president of Real Madrid until 2030, following a vote won against his rival Enrique Riquelme. With this new mandate, the Madrid leader quickly activated major maneuvers to relaunch a new cycle within Casa Blanca, which remained without a trophy during the 2025-2026 season.

In the process, the Merengue club would have formalized the return of José Mourinho to the Madrid bench. Already in the Spanish capital between 2010 and 2013, the Portuguese technician is preparing to open a new chapter with a squad set to evolve in depth. To support his arrival, several major reinforcements would already be targeted, including Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konaté.

At the same time, Real Madrid is also working on the continuity of its current group. According to several Spanish media, the extension of Antonio Rüdiger has already been confirmed, symbol of a desire for stability in the defensive sector. For the rest of the squad, Mourinho will have to quickly decide on several situations.

Tchouaméni should stay

The case of Aurélien Tchouaméni, however, continues to be talked about. Aged 26, the French midfielder retains an important role in the Madrid rotation, used by both Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa. His season, however, was marked at the end by a double altercation with Fede Valverde, relaunching certain speculations around his future.

If Manchester United recently positioned themselves to try to attract him, and Liverpool have also shown an interest, the two English clubs should ultimately review their plans. According to The SunJosé Mourinho would have in fact put an end to the rumors: the new Madrid coach would firmly count on Tchouaméni for next season and would have asked management to completely close the door to a departure. The player is under contract with Real Madrid until June 2028.
