a competitor steps aside for Pierre Sage

Tracked by Crystal Palace for next season, Thomas Frank has officially announced that he will not return to the bench this summer. This decision leaves an avenue for Pierre Sage, who thus moves a little closer to the London club following his planned departure from Lens. The former Brentford and Tottenham coach, sacked by Spurs last February, clarified his situation in a statement sent to Sky Sports News :

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has contacted me over the past few months. Your support and encouragement have been very valuable to me. Leaving Tottenham has given me the opportunity to step back and reflect on my journey so far. The job of football coach requires total commitment on a daily basis, and times like this provide a rare opportunity to evaluate, learn and gain a new perspective.” You will have understood, the Danish coach is not going to return to service anytime soon, despite requests from Palace and Fulham.
