Liverpool snatch Victor Munoz transfer from Newcastle

According to multiple sources, Liverpool have reached a full agreement to sign Victor Munoz from Osasuna. The Merseysiders have triggered the €40 million release clause in the contract of the Spain international, and the player has accepted their proposal of a six-year contract. Liverpool’s entourage has therefore travelled to the USA, where Munoz is currently representing his country at the World Cup, to conduct the medical and complete the necessary paperwork.

Munoz was reportedly on the verge of joining Newcastle until Liverpool stepped in and stole the show, and this development won’t do much to improve the relations between the two Premier League clubs, already strained after the events of last summer – Newcastle had hoped to sign Hugo Ekitike and pair him up with Alexander Isak upfront, but Liverpool stole the Ekitike transfer away and then proceeded to sign Isak as well.

Primarily a left winger, Munoz can play on the right as well. In all competitions last season, he scored seven goals and contributed five assists across 36 matches for Osasuna.
