A few days later, the sports betting company Betclic broadcast an advertising campaign on the Internet featuring five French internationals: Rayan Cherki, Kylian Mbappé, Désiré Doué, Michael Olise and Ousmane Dembélé. A use which immediately aroused the annoyance of several players concerned. Still according to the sports daily, the five internationals assure that they were not informed of the identity of the recipients of this photo shoot. A situation which particularly upset Mbappé and Cherki. The two players would never have wanted to see their image associated with a campaign promoting sports betting.
The subject has now been raised to the governing bodies and could quickly return to the table once the World Cup is over. A new sensitive matter for the FFF, which nevertheless thought it had definitively resolved the question of image rights after the standoff led by its captain a few years ago. Finally, the newspaper The Team explains that Betclic was within its rights and that the concern comes from the agreement signed by 3F and the sports betting company. This new hiccup adds to recent problems between the group and the FFF linked to bonuses paid after the World Cup and the lack of places allocated to players during matches. This will have to be resolved after the World Cup.
